Well, we had a Holiday song to share -- but in order to have a traditional "single" we'd need another for the other side of the record. The question was, do we have another "Christmas" record up our sleeves? Then we realized: if the message of the Christmas story is "Peace on Earth, Goodwill to Men," this is something we've been trying to co-create with every song we've ever done. In that sense, it's Christmas every day of the year around here. Once this came into focus, the song came together pretty easily -- and we're very happy to share it here with you, for the first time anywhere.
lyrics
In a little town, on a little hill
Stands a little chapel
And we hope it always will
And deep upon a winter’s night
Good-tidings to foretell
Comes a sound full of light
When they ring the bell
All the long year ’round, around the whole world wide
People have been losing ground
Against a rising tide
Filling hearts with doubt and fear
Where Love was meant to dwell
And where it may soon reappear
When they ring the bell
On a single note the song is done
Bringing hope to carry on
In one word that contains all words
And the space between as well
As anyone knows who has heard
Heard them ring the bell
In a little town, on a little hill
Stands a little chapel
Through the silent night until
From the darkness, tolling near
Comes a sound we all know well
Telling us, Noel is here
When they ring the bell
